Whipped implies a just roll over and give in to any demand. Quite the opposite. Though I indulge Alex in any small or large way I can, it is not because she demands it. I care, so I do, and Im not afraid to tell her no. I respect her as an equal as I do all women and except for some specific unavoidable considerations to gender I treat all women as I would treat a man...as person not a gender. To classify me as whipped because I dont try to be some macho defenition of a man in a relationship is a rather cheuvinist point of view...I dont prescribe to the prevelant views of what is proper attitude in that regard. I dont need to prove anything. Perhaps this is why no matter what game I play I seem to end up getting to know quite alot of female gamers rather than them prefering not to talk to me...applies just as well in life.

Besides, she realy can break my bones if she feels like it. The whole hand to hand training thing ya know.

She is NOT a gamer.

When a girl spends more time making signs for guild members than she does contributing to guild activities, she is not a gamer.

When a girl got from levels 1-max by batting her eyes and reminding everyone that she IS in fact a girl, she is NOT a gamer.

There are names for them though;

WH*RES.

Wh*res who buy nintendo//retro gaming panties and t-shirts at American Eagle and pose in them on myspace that haven't even PLAYED an original NES. Their first gaming system was probably a gamecube or PC and they probably STARTED 'gaming' in WoW. (Which to anyone who knows better, is training wheels for MMORPGs.)

Wh*res who buy nintendo controller belt buckles and power gloves again to pose in them.

Wh*res who say they like Final Fantasy 7 the best and havent played any.

Wh*res who win every possible arguement by accusing every other girl on the internet of being the REAL wh*re, and that they're not because they're cool and fun and their boyfriend is always close by.
AMEN........

wow...where do you guys get your stereotypes?

at least in GW I've noticed a LOT of women playing the game, in my alliance right now there's an all girl guild, the alliance leader, my guild leader, and a fair amount of the officers & members of various guilds are all female. They're all very good players as well. I also got my last gf into guild wars, which she continues to play and enjoys it very much...

sooo....you guys who insist on sticking to those sexist stereotypes...you might not know you're meeting as many girl players as you are because they hear you spouting that crap and: a.) don't say more than 3 words to you; or b.) lie and say they're a guy to avoid having to get hit on/insulted by you

The truth of the matter is there are a large enough number of 'gamer girls' that give them a bad f*cking rep.

The truth of the matter is they're more scared of prince f*cking charming (that's you) than the idiots who are being 'sexist.' (You're not fooling anybody, you know you're not.)

What it boils down to is this; There are two kinds of girl gamers.

A girl who plays video games. She likes them. Nobody had to *get her into* them. Whether she sucks at it or not, she plays for fun. She doesn't ask for free stuff, and when she gets it, more often than not she doesn't feel obligated to repay whomever it was given to her by. Whe she finds some gear to share, she shares it.

And the 'gamer gurl.' She plays video games because it's just another outlet for her to socialize. (Myspace, Facebook, lastfm, message boards, IM, texting, and blogging, is clearly not enough.) She broke into the gaming scene when she clued in that girls can hold their own gaming. She maybe started because a boyfriend coaxed her into it. Maybe she's single, and she plays video games because she has the notion nerd guys are going to be more faithful than the trash shes used to and she's hunting for a new boytoy. There's no two ways about it, she sucks at it, she uses male players to get further in game, and she's the reason we're all so bloody skeptical about females in game. She spends her day sitting in town scouting for the most promising player to attach herself to. She's constantly ruining the environment begging for stuff, leaching, and whining about how HARD everything is and why everyone is mean to her. She hops from guild to guild and is generally unpleasant. When she finds gear, she keeps it, and never shuts up about it. It is also more often than not ACCIDENTAL because she's not really an active enough gamer for anything to drop without the planets aligning or some other outside influence on fate.

I come across chicks like this, one of them was my guild leader before I split. I still feel that they are not the norm, and aren't common enough to merit branding all chicks that play games with automatic mistrust and abuse.

I could always just start assuming that all the guys that I play GW with are all illogical sexist dumbasses tho I suppose. To each their own.

Much the same can be said for many, many male gamers as well. As much as the term annoys me, they all fall under the category of noob(fully recognizing the difference in newb as opposed to noob), regardless of gender. Truth be told, Ive encountered proportionally far more male players who act like that than I have female. Gamers tend to act their mental age, not their gender stereotype.

I've been playing MMORPGS for over 8 years and you're right, there are more legit gamer girls than the wh*res out there. It might be a 3:1 ratio, I wish the odds were better but they aren't. So, I wouldn't say I'm sexist towards female gamers. I'm just careful about who I party with//invite into my guilds.

Ever since it became cool to be a nerd (male or female) the flood gates for idiots in both genders have been blown off the hinges.

Owning a wii and a pair of triforce panties doesn't make someone a gamer.

- girls are fun to hang around.... i don't treat them as equally as guys.... its just because I can't... in the case of gamer girls they deserve more attention because they are scarce... i've spent years helping a very close friend of mine in pve all while still trying to top 50 gvg.... she doesn't ask i just offer to help... even outside of gw we talk a lot..... i'd hook up with her in a instant (yes feeling is mutual... just 3000miles separate us) she is very intelligent sexy, cute, and all around fun person...

sorry buddy i can't treat them as equally as the guys...
So, because you are an admitted sexist male, because another guy is more socially evolved than you, he is gay because he doesn't need to use tits and ovaries to tell him someone's worth?

Emos? Jocks? This isn't high school dude. Because you refuse to treat another human being as an equal because of some biological reason whether it be gender, race, whatever doesn't make him gay, it makes you ignorant.

Truly.
And in that sense also 'veterans' and 'elitists.'
(Especially when it comes to Guild Wars and Guild Wars guru.)

thanks i am less social evolved because i feel the need to treat girls nicer... you are pro....

by the way i'm probably the least sexist out of all of you.... i recognize the differences but i rather don't care for them.... and no i don't treat women and men equally as they are fundamentally and psychologically different... emotionally they both have different needs and requirements and treating them as the same is the utmost proof of your ignorance.

I think playing gw you'd hit puberty by now missy..... that should be enough realize the physical differences.... it will take a few years for you to understand the psychological differences.... there few good reads i can recommend.

Hard to say how many of us are female; all the female characters make it confusing
I'd love an all-girl guild, but I never found one when looking for a new guild to join

You aren't treating them nicer. You are treating them like they are inferior beings. Seriously, as a chick, all I have got from your posts, vibe was, was condescension and insults towards my gender. Not a lot of niceness floating around from what I can tell.
